1. Data Collection
Information handled by Povena can fall into several categories depending on how the app is used. Some details are provided directly by users, some are created through activity inside the app, and some are generated automatically by devices and supporting infrastructure.
- Account and profile details: this may include a display name, email address, login credentials or authentication identifiers, profile preferences, and information submitted when contacting support.
- User content: if a person uploads photos, drafts, comments, pose references, composition notes, or community posts, those materials may be processed to provide app features and saved in connection with the user’s account.
- Analysis-related inputs: Povena may process visual information from images selected by the user in order to deliver portrait breakdowns, pose blueprints, and other aesthetic analysis features. Some analysis may occur on-device, while some supporting metadata or results may be associated with the account or app session.
- Device and technical information: such data can include device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, approximate region, crash reports, diagnostic logs, and general performance data.
- Usage activity: this may include interactions with screens, community tools, saved items, session timing, feature engagement, and settings preferences.
Povena may also rely on third-party software development kits and infrastructure tools for hosting, authentication, analytics, error monitoring, communications, or app functionality. Those tools may receive technical identifiers and limited usage details as needed to perform their roles.
Certain iOS permissions may be requested only when relevant to a feature:
- Photos: to let users upload, analyze, save, or share images.
- Camera: if image capture is offered within the app.
- Notifications: for account alerts, product updates, community activity, or support-related messages if enabled by the user.
- Location or contacts: these are not required for core functionality unless a specific feature clearly asks for them. If such access is introduced, the permission prompt and in-app context will explain its purpose before activation.
2. Data Usage
Data received through Povena is used to run the app and deliver the experience users expect. That includes creating and managing accounts, enabling community participation, processing uploads, generating visual analysis outputs, remembering preferences, and responding to questions or technical issues.
Usage information and diagnostic records may also help with feature improvement. For example, aggregate activity patterns can show which tools are most useful, where performance issues occur, or whether certain workflows need refinement for better creator outcomes.
Information may additionally be used for:
- maintaining app stability, fraud prevention, abuse detection, and account protection;
- measuring service performance and internal product development;
- sending service-related emails or in-app notices;
- complying with legal obligations or enforcing platform rules.
Povena does not sell personal information in the ordinary sense of exchanging it for money. If marketing, promotional messaging, or audience measurement tools are used, they will be limited to lawful purposes and handled in a way that aligns with applicable privacy requirements. Users may opt out of non-essential promotional communications where available.
Information may be shared with service providers that support hosting, app operations, customer support, security, analytics, communications, or payment-related functions where applicable. Such sharing is limited to what is reasonably necessary for those services.
3. Data Storage & Security
Account records, support messages, app content, and technical logs may be stored on secure servers or cloud systems used to operate Povena. Depending on the service architecture, information may be processed in the user’s region or in other jurisdictions where infrastructure or support providers operate.
Protective measures may include encrypted transmission, access controls, credential safeguards, routine monitoring, least-privilege access practices, and internal restrictions on who can view certain categories of data. Even with reasonable security practices in place, no storage environment or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely risk-free.
Retention periods vary according to the type of information involved. In general:
- account information may be retained while the account remains active;
- uploaded or generated content may remain available until deleted by the user, removed under moderation standards, or no longer needed for the purpose for which it was stored;
- support and security records may be retained for a longer period when needed for compliance, dispute resolution, abuse prevention, or platform integrity;
- de-identified or aggregated usage information may be kept for analytics and product improvement where it no longer reasonably identifies an individual.
4. Third-Party Services
Povena may work with outside vendors and technical partners to provide parts of the app experience. These may include hosting providers, cloud storage systems, authentication platforms, analytics tools, customer support software, notification delivery services, payment processors, and security monitoring services.
Those providers may handle limited information on Povena’s behalf in order to carry out operational tasks. Their use of that information is generally governed by contractual, technical, or legal restrictions tied to the services they provide.
The app may also contain links, integrations, or sharing features that connect users to external websites or services. When a user leaves Povena or engages with a third-party feature, the privacy practices of that external service apply instead of this policy.
5. User Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on location, users may have legal rights over their personal information. These rights can include access to the information associated with an account, correction of inaccurate details, deletion of certain records, restriction or objection to certain processing activities, and portability where applicable.
California residents may also have rights relating to disclosure, deletion, correction, and the ability to opt out of certain data practices under state law. Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and similar jurisdictions may have comparable rights under GDPR or related regulations.
To exercise a privacy request, users can contact support@povena.com. Povena may need to verify identity before acting on a request, particularly where account access, deletion, or sensitive records are involved. Some requests may be limited where legal obligations, security needs, fraud prevention, or legitimate operational requirements apply.
6. Children's Privacy
Povena is intended for adults and older users only. The application is not designed for children under 18, and it is not knowingly offered to minors. If Povena becomes aware that personal information has been submitted by someone under 18 without appropriate legal authorization, that information may be removed and related access may be restricted or terminated.
Consistent with COPPA principles, Povena does not knowingly gather personal information from children under 13. Parents or guardians who believe a child may have provided information through the app can contact support@povena.com to request review and deletion where appropriate.
7. Policy Updates
This privacy policy may be revised from time to time as Povena develops new features, changes technical providers, responds to legal requirements, or adjusts internal practices. Changes can take effect immediately upon posting unless a different date is stated.
When updates are material, Povena may provide notice through the app, by email, through account messaging, or by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes become active means the updated version will govern future use of the service, subject to applicable law.
8. Contact Information
Questions about this policy, requests regarding personal information, or concerns about privacy handling can be directed to the support team.
